Don’t know what content to create on LinkedIn or any other platform?

That’s fine. It’s a common frustration. You may feel like you are staring into a void, like a wall is blocking your path. You can’t go over, under, or around it. It seems infinite.

In a sense, it is. But it’s not an obstruction. It is opportunity.

That void is a blank canvas ready for your input, your creativity, your insight, your knowledge, and for you.

Start creating. It doesn’t matter what you create at first, just that you do. This can help to focus on what you know best and what you enjoy talking about or doing.

By doing so, you can experiment with your process and workflows and get used to the act of creating and posting content.

You don’t have to come out of the gate producing the best content ever in the history of content. That’s unrealistic and it is subjective, so it isn’t something worth spending energy thinking about.

Yes, that hesitation and the tendency to overthink will always be present. Creating content will give you the opportunity to navigate these feelings and learn how to work around them.

You have to be open to letting go of some control because the process is messy and non-linear.

Just start creating content.

Play. Try different media. Explore different topics if you aren’t clear what you are excited about.

There is no right or wrong. Post and move on to the next piece.

Your inner critic is nothing more than an annoying little goblin with no more power than you give it.

Write, journal, blog, vlog, do a podcast, create, draw, paint. Channel your anxious energy into something that allows you to express your ideas and what you are feeling. This can reveal perspectives and ideas you may not have noticed before.

There are always problems people need solved and questions answered. You have the answers and solutions. With some exploration and practice, you will find how and where you are most effective.
